Neighbor's House - photo with permission

Neighbor's house - bristol sketch pad 9x12" - mats to 11x14". Photo by me with neighbor's permission. Ink and watercolor. Ink pens .01, .03, .05. Time 6 hours. Compare with watercolor - light post omitted.

Top photo - demonstration of putting your people into a background.  This step 1.  Step 2 is sketching the people and then sketching in the background.  Part of an example in my new book: "People and Portraits in 1-point perspective".  Due out in September 2020.

When artists have too much time on their hands - they do ink - free hand and no pencil sketch before hand. Use tick marks to locate you primary subject, then sketch - does not always turn out to be a a masterpiece - but hey it only took 6hours.
